More people with TB in Jambi

JAMBI, Jambi: The number of people infected with tuberculosis in Jambi municipality reached 385 this year, almost twice the number of people who contracted the virus last year, or 199 people, a senior health official said on Monday.

The chief of communicable disease prevention at Jambi municipal government, Erwita, said that the high number of people infected with the virus was mostly attributed to low awareness about leading a healthy life style.

People must put more attention to sanitation to reduce the number of people infected with the virus, said Erwita. -- JP
