More pages for newspapers
Journalists, eat your hearts out. While most Jakartans enjoy the extended weekend, a number of newspapers in Indonesia will be raising their pages for the APEC coverage, which means more work.
Minister of Information Harmoko yesterday announced that newspapers in Indonesia can expand their size by four more pages for the duration of the APEC meetings.
Harmoko also said that the holiday declared by the government this Monday and Tuesday for government and private offices in Jakarta does not apply to newspapers.
Harmoko said, "Newspapers and the electronic media are expected to disseminate the news about the APEC meeting to the public," reported the Antara news agency. (emb)
