More guns seized from Poso people

POSO, Central Sulawesi: A joint military and police force again found at least 20 homemade firearms and 200 bullets in the troubled town of Poso, a senior officer said on Tuesday.

"The sharp weapons were seized in an arms operation on a number of villages in several districts since June 1," Poso military chief Lt. Col. IKG Ray Gunawan said.

He said hundreds of illegal firearms and thousands of ammunitions had been confiscated from local residents in similar raids over the last six months. --Antara
