More donations for needy
JAKARTA: The Indonesian National Council on Social Welfare (DNIKS) received two separate donations for the country's needy people.
The first donation to the council was milk from Friesche Vlag Nederland, which consisted of more than 80,000 cans or more than 36 tons of milk.
The donation was for distribution to pregnant and breast- feeding women and infants living on the streets.
The milk was to be distributed in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Aceh, Semarang, Pontianak, Ambon and West Java. Similar donations have been sent to Riau since last year.
Another donation came from the Indian Women's Association. Chairperson, Gobi Punjabi, gave the donation to DNIKS chairman, Bustanil Arifin, to be distributed to refugees in Aceh. (05)
