More cases of HIV/AIDS found in Manado
MANADO, North Sulawesi: Four new AIDS deaths were reported in North Sulawesi province last month, health officials said Friday.
Dr. Roy K.A. George of the provincial health office said the new cases included a single woman who had contracted the disease in Papua and three married seamen. The deceased, aged in their 20s, died several days ago.
"We are worried that there are more HIV/AIDS cases in the province."
George said 38 people comprising 18 women and 20 men had been found to have the disease in the province. Sixteen had died. --JP
