Moral movement

I fully agree with Nurcholish Madjid that most Indonesian leaders are completely lacking the sense of the current crisis and are leading an outrageous way of life.

Hopefully legislators, government employees, governors, regents, and other officials will hear him (at least a little).

The moral values of these people are so low that it is impossible for Indonesia to get any respect from the outside world.

And that must change.

What might be needed in Indonesia is a real moral movement taken to the streets all over, supported by an honest and educated middle-class -- and not full of students manipulated or press-ganged by Muslim organizations for unclear purposes.
