Molesting teacher arrested

UNGARAN, Central Java: Police here have arrested an elementary school teacher for allegedly molesting two nine-year old students.

Police arrested Suudarmin, 45, a teacher at a Catholic School in Jambu district, Semarang regency, on Thursday soon after the parents of the two students reported the case.

"As soon as we received the report, we immediately arrested the suspect to keep him from being mobbed by people," officers in Salatiga police precinct said on Friday, as quoted by Antara.

The suspect has reportedly admitted to the crime saying that he had been molesting the students since March, during a private course. He said he paid those children Rp 800 each to keep quiet. (dja)
