Modern touch at British school

JAKARTA (JP): British ambassador Robin Christopher is scheduled to open a modern technology facility at the British International School in Pondok Aren, Tangerang, today.

The building is a blend of technology and art, the school's officials said.

The building, although monolithic in appearance from the outside, has plenty of space inside and makes use of natural light.

The ground floor comprises areas for design, control technology, resistant materials, graphic products, heat treatment, food technology and a well-equipped darkroom. There is also a faculty library and tutorial room.

The first floor houses a studio with facilities for needlework, textile, fine arts, sculpting and pottery.

There are also 40 networked Pentium computers.
