MKGR nominates Rudini for president

SEMARANG: The MKGR Party reiterated its determination to nominate Rudini, one of its most senior leaders, as its sole presidential candidate.

"Rudini's leadership quality is unquestionable, as he proved when he was a home affairs minister," party chairperson Mien Sugandhi said when addressing about 2,000 supporters.

She said Rudini also displayed his leadership caliber in chairing the General Elections Commission, which was applauded when it forced two Cabinet ministers to quit their posts in order to go on campaign.

Mien, a former minister of women's affairs, said MKGR would defend women's rights, which would give women greater say in the nation's political affairs. (har)
