Mitsubishi to launch 'Asia car' here

TOKYO: Mitsubishi will launch its low-cost "Asia car" in
Indonesia next year.

The minivan-type vehicle is expected to be powered by a 2.0-
liter engine.

The car will debut in Taiwan about September before it goes
into production here and in the Philippines next year.

Mitsubishi hopes to sell about 72,000 vehicles a year
throughout South East Asia and is also considering launching the
car in Africa and Central America and South America.
