Misunderstanding in taxation

In response to the government's plan to abolish the tax on luxury goods applied to soft drinks, I would like to say that the imposition of a luxury tax on carbonated soft drinks is due to a misunderstanding on the part of tax officials.

The addition of carbon dioxide to soft drinks is not a luxury, but rather a necessity to prevent the growth of aerobic micro- organisms, or those requiring oxygen for survival.

Therefore, the inclusion of carbon dioxide in soft drinks is meant to expel oxygen from water.
