Missing copies of 'The Economist'
I have been a loyal reader of The Economist for many years. In the past, delivery problems by Indoprom company were restricted to just lateness by one or two weeks, which I tolerated as long as I eventually received the magazine. Recently the company's delivery service has taken a turn for the worse. Below is a summary of six consecutive recent issues which I have yet to receive: 7885 Oct. 15-21 7886 Oct. 22-28 7887 Oct. 29-Nov. 4 7888 Nov. 5-11 7889 Nov. 12-18 7890 Nov. 19-25
After the third consecutive missing issue, I and my secretary talked to the Customer Service Department by telephone, at least four times between Nov. 1 and Nov. 4. The staff could not tell us why the issues were missing but promised future deliveries would be on time. As for the missing issues, they could either be replaced or credited by extending my subscription term by three issues.
Three more weeks have come and gone, three more issues are missing, many more telephone calls to the Customer Service Department have been made.
My question: How can the company make sure I get every issue, and on time?
