Ministry warns of fake employement

JAKARTA: Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration officials
have warned the public about bogus offers of seasonal employment
abroad for the upcoming 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea.

Soeramsihono, a ministry official, said that the department
has been receiving reports of fake recruitment methods by people
claiming to be hiring seasonal workers for the World Cup series
between May and June of this year.

So far, "the Ministry for Manpower and Transmigration has
received no formal request for seasonal workers," Soeramsihono
said, according to Antara.

In recent days, many people have been calling the ministry for
confirmation of the seasonal jobs, he said. -- JP
