Minister Ivanic withdraws resignation
BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA: Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mladen Ivanic withdrew his resignation along with two other ministers last week, a source citing the country's news agencies said in Jakarta.
Ivanic submitted his resignation on Dec. 18, 2004, just after returning from a visit to Indonesia, to protest against the actions of the High Representative (of the international community) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Leaders in Sarajevo alleged that the High Representative was trying to establish an authoritative system in the country.
When asked for confirmation, Nebojsa Regoje, a counselor at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Embassy in Jakarta, said his office could not.
"We have not yet received official confirmation from Sarajevo that Minister Ivanic withdrew his resignation. But the foreign ministry announced last week that the three minister withdrew their resignations," Regoje said. -- JP
