Minister implicated in Jamsostek case
JAKARTA: A minister has allegedly been implicated in the corruption case centering on the purchase of 1,200 square meters of land located on Jl. Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta in 2000 involving state-owned social security company PT Jamsostek.
The issue was revealed following the questioning of Ahmad Djunaidi, who is the president of PT Jamsostek. He has been named a suspect in the corruption case.
His lawyer, Agus Salim, confirmed that a minister knew that his client paid a sum of money to a private company for the purchase of the land worth Rp 18.5 billion.
He refused to name the minister.
The Jakarta Police Headquarters, which is investigating the case, refused to comment on the matter. However, an official confirmed that they would name another suspect in the case.
On Wednesday, Ahmad Djunaidi was grilled for seven hours. On Tuesday, he was questioned for two and a half hours over the case. -- JP
