Miniskirts frustrate Lampung teachers

METRO, Lampung: Female students' skirts just keep getting shorter, and high school teachers have given up hope in their bid to stop hemline creep.

Many students go to school wearing tight miniskirts despite teacher warnings that the attire is "no good to look at" and that it may "invoke danger."

Frustrated that their advice went unheeded, the teachers have asked the local internal security agency to intervene, Antara reported yesterday.

Agency chief Col. Bibit Waluyo, in a meeting with local teachers on Saturday, advised headmasters to threaten the "recalcitrant" students with punitive action.

"If they still insist on wearing indecent skirts despite the school and parents' objections, then bar them from school," Waluyo said. (pan)
