Mini series on Benyamin

JAKARTA (JP): The life story of the late artist Benyamin
Suaeb, who died of heart attack last Tuesday, will be screened in
a mini-series to be produced by Mandahari Production House.

Dana K. Anwari of Mandahari Production House said the mini
series will emphasize the artist's struggle to promote the
"vanishing" Betawi culture.

Dana said plan to make the mini-series is based on his
admiration of Benyamin.

Benyamin has become the pride of not only his family and
indigenous Betawi people but also the whole country, he said.

He said that his team is currently collecting data on
Benyamin's life, from written sources to direct interviews with
the late artist's families and relatives. (32)
