Military school gets new chief
JAKARTA: The Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Gen. Endriartono Sutarto inducted Vice Marshal Herman Prayitno as commander of the TNI Staff and Command School in the West Java capital of Bandung on Thursday, replacing Lt. Gen. Djaja Suparman.
Prayitno is the fourth military officer to be appointed to the post since the Armed Forces (ABRI) Staff and Command School was renamed TNI Staff and Command School.
He said he will continue his predecessors' policies and try to improve the quality of the military school.
Besides Djaja Suparman, Lt. Gen. Widjojo and Gen. Endriartono Sutarto once led the TNI Staff and Command School.
Djaja Suparman, former Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) commander, will later take up his new post as TNI inspector general. --Antara
