Military officers get promoted

JAKARTA: Six military officers at the defense ministry have
received promotions, it was announced on Monday.

The six are: Nachrowi Ramli, head of the State Code Institute,
who was promoted to the rank of major general; the head of the
ministry's Human Resources and Development Division, Marsono
Yatim, to brigadier general; personnel inspector at the
ministry's Inspectorate General, Winarno, to brigadier general;
head of the Inspectorate General for Operations, Sofwana Jusuf,
to vice admiral; director of the ministry's Defense Potential
Directorate, James M. Hutagaol, to vice marshal; and a director
of the ministry's Procurement Directorate, Sis Anwar, to vice
marshal.

Defense minister Matori Abdul Djalil said on Monday the
promotions were awarded after a stringent selection process,
based on objective evaluations of personal integrity, capability
and performance, as well as loyalty and dedication to the
