Military attaches visit Riau

PEKANBARU, Riau: Twenty-three military attaches from friendly countries were on a two-day visit here yesterday as part of their whirlwind tour of several Indonesian provinces.

Governor Soeripto said that before the attaches arrived on Thursday they had visited West Sumatra and Lampung.

The diplomatic corps members are from the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and several ASEAN member countries.

They met with provincial government officials and visited PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, the country's largest oil company, in Rumbai. (pan)
