Military alerted to pen sniffers
SURABAYA: Brawijaya Military Commander Maj. Gen. Sudi Silalahi called on military and police to be on the lookout for shiny pens which are believed to be used as a means to get high.
"Internally, we are calling on everyone to watch out for this pen," he said as quoted by Antara here on Wednesday.
While police have not been able to prove the existence of the "addictive" pens, of which the ink is sniffed by people to get high on, there have been rampant reports of them being sold on the market.
Although Sudi acknowledged that he had yet to see one, he said he was taking precautionary measures and making sure that no soldiers were involved in the distribution of them.
