Microsoft launches 'Office 97'

JAKARTA (JP): Microsoft Indonesia launched Office 97
yesterday. Office 97 is a software generation after Office 95
introduced two years ago.

The president of Microsoft Indonesia, Andy Khoo, said Office
97 was designed to enable internet users to maximize internet
technology.

Office 97 is equipped with a facility which can accommodate 50
percent of codes to be used simultaneously by applicants compared
to only 12 percent in Office 95.

He said Microsoft spent three years developing the new
software product at a cost of US$200 million.

Indonesia is among the first Southeast Asian countries in
which market will be marketed. (09)
