Michael Franks to sing at Blue Note

The American jazz singer Michael Franks will perform here from
Aug. 29 to Sept. 3 to mark the opening of Blue Note Jazz Club and
Restaurant.

Franks, a suave, stylish vocalist, will give one concert every
night starting at 8:30. The club is located on KH Mas Mansyur,
Central Jakarta.

Franks, whose songs are inspired by poems and paintings,
including those of French painter Paul Gauguin, has released not
less than 10 albums such as Dragonfly Summer (1993), The Camera
Never Lies (1987), Object of Desire (1982), Tiger in the Rain
(1979) and The Art of Tea (1975). (als)
