Merpati signs agreement
JAKARTA (JP): Merpati Indonesia Airlines and Canadian Airlines International Ltd. yesterday agreed to cooperate on management and operation, including maintenance, commerce and education.
A Merpati spokesman, Tondo Widodo, said yesterday that under the agreement, which was signed in Surabaya, East Java, the Canadian International Development Agency will finance a feasibility study, which will be carried out by Canadian Airlines.
The agreement was signed by Merpati's technical director, Mulyono, and a director of Canadian Airlines, Dannis Marrigan.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia-Pacific region, Raymond Chan, and Canadian Ambassador Lawrence T. Dickenson. (31)
