Merpati responds

Allow me to respond in the following to a letter by Michael Beer of Amlapura, Bali, complaining about Merpati's service.

On behalf of the management of PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines I am herewith extending the greatest apology to Michael Beer for the inconvenience that our service caused him during the MZ 606 and 615 flights covering the Denpasar-Maumere route.

Owing to some technical problems related to flight operations, there were, on the days of the flights referred to, some irregularities in Merpati flight services such as a change in the type of aircraft used and a flight delay. These irregularities occurred during the peak season and were caused by technical disturbances experienced by some aircraft in our fleet. That is why to address these irregularities and ensure that flight services as a whole would continue to run well, flight operations were adjusted, especially with respect to the fleet of aircraft used.

It is for this reason that F-20 replaced F-27 in MZ 606 and 615 flights. We decided to make this change because we prioritized flight safety and customers' satisfaction as best we could in the existing circumstances.

Further, we would also like to thank Michael Beer for his attention and correction, which we regard as a very valuable input for Merpati to enable it to provide better services. It is our sincere hope that despite this unfavorable condition, Michael Beer will continue to fly in Merpati airplanes.
