Merpati offers discount fares

JAKARTA: As part of its 42nd anniversary celebrations, PT
Merpati Nusantara Airlines will offer seats for Rp 42,000
(US$4.50) on all of its domestic flights and $42 on international
flights from Sept. 1 to Oct. 12.

Merpati will only offer five of these specially priced seats
per flight. The special fares exclude departure and airport
taxes, and are limited to economy class tickets.

Merpati corporate secretary Jaka Pujiyono said the discount
program would not affect revenue as most of the specially priced
seats would have been unsold.

Merpati serves 120 domestic and three international routes per
day, with a load factor standing at about 75 percent to 80
percent. --JP
