Merak-Bakauheni ferry fare hike

MERAK, West Java: The passenger fare for the Merak-Bakauheni
ferry will increase 52.5 percent from Rp 2,500 (about 30 US
cents) to Rp 3,800.

The fee for vehicles boarding the ferry which connects West
Java and Lampung will increase to Rp 36,000 for private vehicles,
Rp 42,500 for medium-sized trucks and Rp 56,900 for large trucks.

The president director of PT Angkutan Sungai Danau dan
Penyeberangan transportation company, Capt. Syahwin Hamid, told
Antara news agency on Wednesday the hike would enable the company
to provide passengers with better service and facilities. (09)
