Memorial service for Price

JAKARTA: A memorial service will be held on Valentine's Day
for the late Macalister "Mac" Price, the deputy head of the New
Zealand Embassy and consul general to Indonesia from 1989 to
1992.

The Feb. 14 service, to be held at the New Zealand Residence
in Kuala Lumpur, coincides with the wedding anniversary of Price
and his Indonesian-born wife Nina Sudiono.

Price died in Adelaide, South Australia, on Jan. 10, while
undergoing long-term medical treatment. He was buried in Auckland
on Jan. 14.

He is survive by his wife and three sons, Hamish, Duncan and
Andrew, and four grandchildren.

During his last months in Adelaide, Price completed a book on
a political assassination which rocked Samoa in 1999. -- JP
