Mega to visit East Nusa Tenggara

SOE, East Nusa Tenggara: President Megawati
Soekarnoputri plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-Perjuangan) in East
Nusa Tenggara province next Saturday, officials said.

The anniversary celebration for the party she leads will be
held in Soe, the capital of South Central Timor regency, said the
provincial spokesman Johanis Kosapilawan on Tuesday.

The PDI-Perjuangan's anniversary actually fell last January,
when Megawati held celebrations both in Bali and at her
residence.

"At least 42,000 members and supporters will participate in
the event," said the deputy chairman of the party's local
chapter, Kristo Blasin.

Johanis added that Megawati would also attend the launching in
the province of a nationwide greening project to encourage people
to plant trees.

He said the regency would plant 100,000 trees as part of the
