Mega, Hamzah to receive well-wishers

JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Vice President Hamzah Haz will hold an open house on Nov. 25, the first day of Idul Fitri, to receive well-wishers.

Megawati and husband Taufik Kiemas will receive greetings from the public for two hours starting at 3:30 p.m. at the State Palace. For ministers and diplomats, however, the open house will begin at 10 a.m., immediately after the Idul Fitri prayer.

Megawati and Hamzah will attend the Idul Fitri prayer at the Istiqal Grand Mosque.

Hamzah and wife Asmaniah will receive greetings from ministers, diplomats and citizens from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. at the Vice President's official residence on Jl. Diponegoro in Central Jakarta.

Later that day, he Haz will hold an open house at the Bogor Presidential Palace starting at 4 p.m., where the Vice President will be accompanied by his second wife Titin Kartini.

The first family is slated to leave for Bali on Nov. 26 for a family holiday that will last until Nov. 30.--JP
