Meeting switched after riot rumors

SEMARANG: The organizers of a meeting of Indonesian travel
bureaus have postponed it until next month because of rampant
rumors that a riot would break out this weekend.

The four-day meeting, which was originally set to begin today
in Magelang, Central Java, was postponed until Sept. 15.

Head of the meeting's organizing committee, Sudharmono, said
the meeting would discuss ways for the tourist industry to
attract visitors during the crisis. (har)
