Meeting on railway service

BANDUNG (JP): The state-owned railway company Perusahaan Umum Kereta Api (Perumka) will host the 16th annual conference on railway general management of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from June 6-10.

A spokesman for Perumka, Djoko Martojo, said here yesterday that delegations from ASEAN, which comprises Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, will take part in the meeting, which will also be attended by observers from Australia and Myanmar.

He said the conference will pursue stronger cooperation and exchanges of railway experiences.

He also said the conference, which will be divided into sessions on including issues and technical works, will present several papers. (pet/icn)
