Mediterranean foods now in Yogya

YOGYAKARTA: Food lovers, listen to this! The Mediterranean foods can now be found in the city of Yogyakarta.

If you want to try the exotic Gulf food, go to the Kayu Api restaurant at Yogyakarta's Novotel Hotel on Jl. Sudirman.

"Starting from this month and on the menus is available at the restaurant from 6 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.," Yogyakarta Novotel's public relations officer Dyah Retno Wikan said, adding that Kayu Api was the first restaurant in the city that was specially offering Mediterranean of its original recipe.

The Mediterranean campaign also aimed at changing Kayu Api's image as a special restaurant that offer only Italian food.

As appetizers, you can choose the Greek Village Salad or Adas Bis Silq (lentil with Swiss chard soup). The main course it offers a range of choices ranging from the Egyptian eggplants casserole Moussaka to Morroccan Lamb Chops.

For the dessert, try Muhallabia (creamy almond rice pudding) or Greek's pastry Baklava.

"We are also offering Wednesday's Paella (Spanish rice dish) and Thursday's Couscous (an Algerian dish of semolina and accompanying food) every Wednesday and Thursday evening to promote and introduce the new menus," Dyah Retno Wikan said. -- JP
