Medan Jaya ties 0-0 against Persiraja

MEDAN, North Sumatra (JP): Supported by nearly a thousand local fans, Medan Jaya failed to satisfy them with victory and had to settle for a scoreless draw against Persiraja in the Bank Mandiri Soccer League on Friday.

Persiraja's striker Irwansyah had great opportunities to score but Medan Jaya goalie Sugiar was too agile, denying every attempt.

Persiraja increased its tempo and changed its strategy in the second half. Midfielder Oum Luc Junior passed well to the strikers but they were unable to penetrate the defense.

Despite replacing Irwansyah with Ismed Sofyan, Persiraja strikers were still unable to break through the strong Medan Jaya defense.

Medan Jaya deputy team manager, Dollah Unai, complained about the refereeing, claiming that his team should have had two penalty kicks but the referee sided with the visiting team. (39)
