Medan deports three aliens

MEDAN, North Sumatra: North Sumatra immigration authorities have deported three foreigners for misusing their tourist visas working as English teachers.

Dahlawi Hasyimi, head of the provincial immigration office, said the aliens admitted to having misused their visas for the same purpose in other cities, Antara reported yesterday.

The three, Collin Brian Fricker, 40, from Britain, Allan Smith, 35, from the United States, and Remo Big Nardi, 40, from Italy, were deported last week.

Hasyimi blamed the breach of the immigration law partly on the management of the English school were the aliens worked. "They should have reported the foreigners presence to the authorities," he said.

Earlier, the North Sumatra immigration office had deported seven Pakistanis for misusing their socio-cultural visas by preaching Islam in several mosques in the province. (pan)
