Medal for engine

TOKYO: Mitsubishi's Gasoline Direct Injection engine has won the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers medal for new technology.

The company plans to introduce the engines -- claimed to deliver 35 percent better fuel economy and 10 percent more power than the equivalent size conventional engine -- in two sedans and three recreational vehicles by the end of the year.
