Me, Myself, and Irene

Me, Myself, and Irene. Comedy, 116 minutes; Starring Jim Carrey, Renee Zellweger, Michael Bowman, Chris Cooper. Directed by Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly.

Gentle-mannered state trooper Charlie Bailygates (Carrey) develops a split personality after experiencing a series of disappointments in his life.

When Charlie falls in love with a woman (Zellweger) who is wanted by a mafia boss, so does his alter ego Hank. Before the two decide who should have the woman they must team up to take her to a safer place.

This, the second collaboration between Carrey and the Farrelly brothers, offers plenty of belly laughs although some critics found the humor offensive.

Like the Farrelly's previous hit There's Something About Mary, this film contains assorted characters including foul-mouthed genius Afro-American triplets, a tag-along albino waiter and a cow that will not die. (08)
