Mayor prefers not to run for 2nd term

BOGOR: Bogor Mayor, Iswara Natanegara, said on Monday that his
decision not to run for a second term as mayor was not because he
was "neglecting the wishes of the public".

"I have considered the various aspects involved, including the
views of my family. It's not because I am not listening to what
people want," he said.

Iswara responded to a statement by the head of the South Bogor
Community Development Communications Forum (FKLPM), Cecep
Supriatna, who said that the mayor has successfully developed
Bogor in the physical, environmental, human resources, economic
and political spheres during his tenure.

Iswara said that he had been considering his decision for the
last year and hoped that his replacement would continue current
development programs in Bogor. -- Antara
