Mauritius investors due here

JAKARTA (JP): Forty entrepreneurs from Mauritius will be flown into Indonesia, courtesy of Singapore Airlines, to explore investment opportunities here, the airline's office in Jakarta said on Thursday.

Consisting of businessmen and interior designers interested in furniture and handicrafts, members of the delegation from the island nation in the Indian Ocean will visit trade exhibitions during their stay in Indonesia.

"The program is to help regain the trust of foreign investors and in the process improve the image of Indonesian business," SIA said in a statement without giving dates for the visit.

It also quoted SIA Indonesia general manager Raja Segran as saying that the program underlined the airline's commitment to Indonesia's economic recovery.

The airline said the number of Mauritians visiting Indonesia was expected to increase this year. Some 300 visas have so far been issued to visitors from Mauritius since the beginning of the year, while 1,450 visas were issued last year. (10)
