MAT introduces new concept

JAKARTA (JP): The Marlboro Adventure Team (MAT) introduced on Thursday a new concept of adventure for Indonesian participants in a program called the Join the World Team 2001.

The adventure program is being organized by cigarette producer PT Philip Morris Indonesia for the seventh time since 1995.

"Unlike previous adventure programs when there were Indonesian participants only, this year the Indonesians will have to compete with participants from 21 other countries," said the company's marketing manager, David Tjokro, in a statement.

The adventure program will also have an international selection stage, the International Adventure Camp (IAC), to be held in Cyprus from July 31 until Aug. 5. Participants will be engaged in team-building and orienteering activities.

The adventure stage will be held in the U.S. from Sept. 29 until Oct. 10 and will include jeeping, team building, orienteering, horse riding, and riding all terrain vehicles (ATV). During this stage, participants will choose their own adventure from Utah to Arizona instead of a prearranged one. (nvn)
