MasterCard appoints new head

JAKARTA (JP): MasterCard International announced on Thursday that industry veteran Jitendra "Sonny" Sannon has been appointed as the new senior vice president and general manager for the Southeast and South Asia regions.

He replaces Don Van Stone, who held the position for five years and has now been appointed senior vice president and managing director for the Middle East and Africa region.

The company said in a statement that Sannon would be responsible for directing MasterCard's business in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

"Sonny is an industry and MasterCard veteran with more than 12 years of MasterCard business building behind him," said MasterCard Asia Pacific president Andre Sekulic. (rei)
