Masked men rob engineering company

BOGOR (JP): Five masked men armed with daggers robbed an engineering and construction company in Leuwinutug, a police officer said on Tuesday.

Bogor Police detective First Sgt. Dwi said the robbery had caused the company Rp 100 million in losses. The suspects took with them expensive engineering equipment, including a set of micrometer scales, he said.

The robbers also took Rp 8 million in cash from the company and Rp 3 million from three employees of the company who were asleep when the burglars broke in, Dwi said.

Dwi added that the criminals gagged the company's guards with a length of rope and a pair of shorts before robbing the building.

The officer said the police had identified some men as suspects.

"We're now pursuing them," he said, but did not elaborate. (08/21)
