Market refurbishment projects

JAKARTA (JP): Milk and food producer PT Nestle Indonesia
inaugurated its second traditional market refurbishment project
on Thursday in a ceremony centered at Jatinegara market in East
Jakarta.

Assistant to Nestle's vice president for public relations Tika
Bisono said the facelift project at five traditional markets
involved the markets being painted red and yellow, the colors of
Nestle's Maggi products. Last year Mayestic market in South
Jarkarta had a similar paint job.

"The aim of the project is to make dirty and muddy traditional
markets cleaner and brighter, while at the same time we will
benefit from a brand image point of view," she said, citing that
each market project cost about Rp 100 million.

The market project, jointly carried out with city-owned market
management firm PD Pasar Jaya, will also include North Jakarta's
Rawa Badak and Sunter markets, West Jakarta's Tomang Barat market
and Rawamangun market in East Jakarta.

In addition to painting the market, the company has also
installed maps and signs to the products sold at the market.
