Many ads violate rules

JAKARTA (JP): A non-governmental organization has asked the city administration to put advertisement installations in order, saying that many of them violate regulations.

The Jakarta Crisis Center said on Thursday, that many of the so-termed "white areas" -- forbidden for ads -- are not kept free of them.

It cited the examples of ads in front of the Granada building on Jl. Gatot Subroto, and near Kartika Plaza on Jl. Thamrin.

It also said that the Jakarta administration has ruled that all ads should use stainless steel or aluminum, but in fact, many of the ads use other materials, including cloth.
