Manuputty's daughter goes on trial

AMBON, Maluku: Christina Kakisina Manuputty, the daughter of
exiled Maluku separatist leader Dr. Alex Manuputty, went on trial
on Friday in Ambon, the capital of Maluku province.

Christina's mother, Holly Manuputty, is also being tried in a
separate trial at the same court.

Both have been charged with treason for facilitating a series
of meetings of the Maluku Sovereignty Front (FKM) separatist
group, which Alex Manuputty chaired. -- JP
