Manila releases RI terror suspects
MANADO, North Sulawesi: The Philippines government has released five North Sulawesi residents after a court acquitted them of terror charges due to lack of evidence.
The five were arrested in Bualong, southern Philippines, two years ago for alleged involvement in terror activities and possession of explosives, and they were later detained and prosecuted in General Santos city.
The General Santos District Court acquitted them of all charges on Jan. 17, said an Indonesian government statement made available to the media. -- JP
