Mangrove suspects' dossiers submitted

JAKARTA: The dossiers of three suspects in a mangrove felling case were submitted to the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office early this week, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Prasetyo said on Wednesday.

"The prosecutors are examining the dossiers and could return them if still incomplete," he said.

City police have named Francis Moniaga from PT Rainbow Cipta Utama ad agency, Agus Suseno from PT Grand Skylindo ad agency and Purwadi from toll road operator PT Jasa Marga as suspects.

They were detained after questioning on May 28, but were released three days later because it was deemed that their release would not hamper the investigation.

The three allegedly played decisive roles in the felling of 240 mangrove trees along Prof. Dr. Sedyatmo toll road in North Jakarta in April. The trees were part of the Muara Angke protected forest that helps reduce the impact of annual flooding in the area. -- JP
