JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Care Team has handed over 2,000 food packages to residents from Manggarai subdistrict, South Jakarta, with the aim of relieving poor people's burden during the current economic crisis.

The donation was given on Saturday by H. Tursandi, an assistant to the city secretary on administration affairs, in a modest ceremony, attended by Siti Hartati Murdaya, the team's coordinator, South Jakarta Mayor H. Abdul Mufti and several officials from city administration.

"Each package consists of 10 kilograms of rice," administration spokesman Kamaludin S., said in a statement.

He said it was the 13th food donation provided by the team, which was set up under the initiative of the administration with the support of 89 wealthy businessmen.
