Management denies damage to plaza

JAKARTA (JP): The management of the Plaza Senayan shopping center on Thursday denied that the building had suffered minor damage when an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale rocked the capital on the previous day.

"It's untrue that Wednesday's jolt broke some glass in the roof of Plaza Senayan," Christopher, an executive at the management office, said on Thursday.

The tremor jolted most of the western part of Java, including Jakarta, sending people running in panic and leaving many buildings with broken glass windows.
