Manado to get new clinic

MANADO; The government will build a new clinic to treat needy Moslems who are on the way, or have just return from their haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

In a ceremony yesterday, the director of Haj Affairs of the Ministry of Religious Affairs H. Amidan, representing his minister, laid a corner stone for the Rp 262-million clinic.

Present at the ceremony were Ignatius Iman Suseno, Director General of Catholic Affairs of the ministry and Mohammad Slamet, chairman of the Indonesian Haj Brotherhood. They were here to attend a Christian celebration for civil servants on Wednesday.

Amidan said the clinic will also be open to the public.

The government has built haj hospitals in Ujungpandang, Jakarta and Medan. (tis)
